Grand Thailand Discovery

You're met at Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Settle in, then ease into the city — a walk through your neighbourhood, an early dinner at a local street-food row, and a first look at the city that will bookend your trip.

A guided morning at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, then across the city to Wat Pho to see the enormous reclining Buddha. In the afternoon, cross the Chao Phraya by longtail boat for a close-up view of Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, before an evening free to explore Bangkok's street food scene.

An early departure for the floating market at Damnoen Saduak, about two hours from Bangkok, where vendors still sell fruit, noodles and produce from wooden boats along the canal. Return to the city by early afternoon, with the rest of the day free for shopping, a massage, or exploring a neighbourhood at your own pace.

A short domestic flight north to Chiang Mai, Thailand's cultural heart in the mountains. Transfer to your hotel in or near the Old City, with the afternoon free to get your bearings — the moat-ringed Old City is compact and easy to explore on foot from your first evening.

A guided walk through the Old City's temples, including Wat Phra Singh and the ruined-stupa grandeur of Wat Chedi Luang, followed by a drive up Doi Suthep mountain to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of the most sacred temples in northern Thailand, with sweeping views back over the city.

A day in the hills outside the city at an ethical, no-riding elephant sanctuary — observing, feeding and, where the sanctuary allows, bathing the elephants in a setting built around their welfare. Back in the city by evening for Chiang Mai's Night Bazaar, a sprawling market of textiles, crafts and northern Thai street food.

A domestic flight south to Phuket, Thailand's largest island and your base for the beach half of the trip. Transfer to your west-coast hotel, with the rest of the day free to settle in and get your first look at the Andaman Sea.

A morning visit to the hilltop Big Buddha for its views over the south of the island, then into Phuket Old Town to walk the Sino-Portuguese shophouse streets, browsing galleries, cafés and heritage buildings that trace the island's tin-mining past. Time in the afternoon for Promthep Cape, a well-known sunset viewpoint.

A day left open by design — for the beach in front of your hotel, a spa afternoon, or exploring on your own. If you'd rather stay active, we can add a speedboat day trip to the Phi Phi Islands, including Maya Bay, as a paid upgrade — just let us know when you enquire.

A road transfer south along the coast to Krabi, roughly three hours, with the limestone cliffs beginning to rise into view as you near Ao Nang. Check in to your beachside hotel, then spend the afternoon along Ao Nang's waterfront — restaurants, bars and boat piers all within easy walking distance.

A full-day longtail or speedboat tour through Krabi's signature scenery — the sheer limestone cliffs of Railay Beach, the sheltered lagoon at Phra Nang Cave Beach, and the clear water of Chicken Island and Poda Island, with time to swim and snorkel between stops. Return to Ao Nang by evening.

A final breakfast and, depending on your flight, a little free time by the beach or for last-minute shopping in Ao Nang. You're then transferred to Krabi International Airport for your onward journey — or, if you'd like to extend, we can add nights on any of the four legs of this trip.
