Why Thailand

Three very different trips, all in one country

Thailand rewards visitors precisely because it doesn't hand you a single experience. Bangkok is a river-city of gilded temples, street food and skyline malls, running on its own restless energy. A few hours north, the mountains around Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai hold Lanna culture, hill-tribe villages and cooler air. South of the capital, two coastlines — the Gulf and the Andaman Sea — spread out into the islands and limestone cliffs that made Thai beaches famous worldwide.

It's a country that has drawn travellers for decades and still moves fast: night markets, high-speed rail links, and a genuinely warm welcome sit alongside centuries-old royal temples and rural rice country. Buddhism, monarchy and a distinct regional cuisine tie the country together even as each region looks and feels different from the next.

Historic Ayutthaya and Sukhothai — Thailand's former royal capitals — are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the country's national parks and forest complexes protect some of mainland Southeast Asia's richest wildlife. Below is a quick orientation, followed by every Thailand journey we offer.

What Thailand Is Known For

The reasons people keep coming back

Golden temples & royal history

From the Grand Palace and Wat Arun in Bangkok to the ruined capitals of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai, Thailand's Buddhist and royal heritage is everywhere and easy to reach.

One of the world's great food scenes

Pad thai, green curry, tom yum and mango sticky rice, best discovered at street stalls, night markets and floating markets rather than only in restaurants.

Islands for every pace

Phuket's resorts and nightlife, Krabi's dramatic limestone cliffs, Koh Samui's palm-lined beaches and Koh Phi Phi's postcard bays — all within a short flight or boat ride of each other.

Ethical elephant experiences

Chiang Mai's growing network of no-riding, no-chain elephant sanctuaries lets visitors observe, feed and bathe rescued elephants in a setting built around their welfare.

Mountains & hill country

Doi Inthanon and Doi Suthep rise above Chiang Mai's valley, home to hill-tribe villages, waterfalls and a noticeably cooler climate than the rest of the country.

Easy, welcoming & well-connected

English is widely used in tourist areas, low-cost domestic flights link every region in under two hours, and Thailand's tourism infrastructure makes it one of the most approachable first trips into Asia.

Good to Know

Planning essentials

When to visit

November to February is the coolest, driest window nationwide. March to May turns hot and dry; the southwest monsoon (roughly May–October) affects the Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi) more than the Gulf side (Koh Samui). We'll advise on timing for your route.

Money

The Thai Baht (THB). Cards are widely accepted in hotels, malls and larger restaurants; carry cash for markets, temples, street food and small vendors.

Getting between regions

Short, frequent domestic flights connect Bangkok with Chiang Mai, Phuket and Koh Samui; Krabi is often reached by a road transfer from Phuket. We build the transfers into every itinerary.

Visas & entry

Requirements depend on your passport. Many nationalities enter Thailand visa-free for short tourist stays, but rules change — please check for your nationality, and we'll point you to the right source.

Temple etiquette

Shoulders and knees covered at all temples, especially the Grand Palace; shoes off before entering most temple buildings. A light scarf or shawl is worth carrying for spur-of-the-moment temple visits.

How long to spend

A single city or island works as a long weekend; combining a city with one coast wants around a week; the full Bangkok–north–south loop is best given ten days or more. Tell us your dates and we'll shape the right length.

Questions

Planning your Thailand trip

Which Thailand package is right for me?

If it's your first visit and you want the highlights, the Grand Discovery or Bangkok, Phuket & Krabi are the natural start. Short on time or focused on one place? The city, island and cultural escapes each do one thing well. Travelling with kids, on a honeymoon, or after something more upscale? We have a dedicated package for each. Tell us your priorities and we'll point you to the best fit — or build a blend.

Can any of these itineraries be customised or combined?

Yes — every package here is a starting point, not a fixed departure. Add nights, upgrade hotels, run it privately, or combine a city-and-north itinerary with an island add-on. Send us what you have in mind and we'll shape one itinerary around it.

Should I choose Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui?

Phuket has the most infrastructure and choice of beaches; Krabi (on the same Andaman coast) is quieter and more dramatic, built around limestone cliffs; Koh Samui, on the Gulf side, tends to have calmer seas and a slightly different wet season. Many travellers combine Phuket or Krabi with a Phi Phi Islands day trip; Koh Samui usually stands on its own or pairs with Bangkok. We can help you pick based on your dates and pace.

Are flights included?

International flights into and out of Thailand aren't included unless stated in your quote. Where an itinerary needs domestic flights between regions, we'll confirm whether those are included in the package price or quoted separately, so it's clear before you book.

How do I get a quote or book?

Open the package that interests you and send an enquiry with your rough dates and traveller numbers, or contact us directly if you'd like help choosing. We'll come back with a tailored quote and next steps — no obligation, and no payment needed to get a proposal.
