The Rufiyaa (MVR) is the local currency, but US dollars are accepted almost everywhere in tourism, and resort bills are typically settled by card. Local islands are more cash-friendly for small purchases.
Every trip starts with an international flight into Malé (Velana International Airport), then a speedboat (nearby atolls), domestic flight or seaplane (further atolls) to your specific island. We build this transfer into every itinerary.

Maldivian law reserves alcohol for licensed resorts and a small number of "floating bars" — it isn't sold on local islands. Local-island guesthouses also expect modest dress in shared village areas, with bikinis kept to designated "bikini beaches."

No — both are commonly seen while snorkelling at the surface, which is how most visitors experience Hanifaru Bay's mantas and South Ari Atoll's whale sharks. Certified diving opens up more sites and a closer look at the reef itself, but it isn't required for our marine-life packages.
