This is a template built around leisure rather than a checklist: a welcome dinner, a sunset cruise, and open days for the beach, the spa or the water to fill however you like.

What your days will actually look like
A private island, entirely to yourselves
Each resort in the Maldives occupies its own island — no other hotels, no day-trippers, just your resort's guests and staff. It's one of the few places left where "private" genuinely means private.
Lagoon & house-reef snorkelling
Many resorts have a coral house reef within swimming distance of the beach or villa — reef fish, turtles and rays are often visible without a boat trip at all.
A sunset worth planning around
An evening sunset cruise across the lagoon — with dolphins a common sight along the way — is one of the simplest, most photographed rituals in the Maldives, and one of the best.
Overwater or beach villa living
Wake up over the lagoon in an overwater villa, or step straight onto the sand from a beachfront room — both are built for doing very little, very well.
Your 5-day itinerary
A short list of days by design — this is a resort stay, not a sightseeing tour, and most of it is intentionally left open.
You're met on arrival at Velana International Airport and transferred to your resort by speedboat or seaplane, depending on your resort's atoll. No roads connect the airport to any resort, so this transfer is part of the experience — turquoise shallows give way to open ocean, then your island appears. Check in, and let the rest of the day be nothing at all.
A day with no plan attached to it. Swim out to the house reef, stretch out on the beach, or simply move between the hammock and the water. Breakfast is the only fixed point — everything after it is yours.
As the light turns gold, a sunset cruise takes you out onto the lagoon and open water, often with dolphins riding the wake along the way. Back at the resort, the evening is left open for a quiet dinner together, wherever on the island you'd like it.
Another open day — arrange an optional spa treatment, try the resort's water sports, or spend it exactly as you spent Day 2. This is deliberately the least planned day of the trip.
A final breakfast before your resort transfers you back to Malé by speedboat or seaplane in time for your onward flight. Prefer a longer stay, or want to add a night in Malé itself? We can build that in.
Indicative itinerary. The sunset cruise and any optional activities are confirmed at the time of booking and depend on your specific resort, weather and sea conditions. Days 2 and 4 are intentionally unstructured — the resort's own facilities and excursion desk fill in the detail.

Two things shift the final price meaningfully: whether your resort's transfer is by speedboat or seaplane, and your resort's meal plan (many Maldives resorts default to half-board or full-board rather than breakfast-only). Both are confirmed with your operator once a specific resort is selected.
Before you go
Best time to visit
The Maldives is warm year-round. The dry season, roughly December to April, brings the calmest seas and least rain; May to November is warmer and wetter but still very swimmable — we'll advise on timing for your dates.
Currency
The Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR), though resorts price and bill almost everything in US dollars. Cards are accepted island-wide; there's little need for cash at a resort.
Getting to your resort
There are no roads connecting Malé's airport to any resort — every transfer is by speedboat or seaplane, and which one depends on your resort's distance from the airport. Seaplanes fly daylight hours only, so a late-night arrival can mean an overnight near the airport before an early flight out.
What to pack
Light resortwear, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and swimwear that covers a little more than usual — the Maldives is a conservative Muslim country outside resort islands, so modest dress is expected if you visit Malé itself.
Reef etiquette
House reefs are fragile — never stand on coral, keep sunscreen reef-safe where possible, and don't touch or feed marine life. Most resorts brief guests on this on arrival.
Visas & documents
Most nationalities receive a free 30- (or, for some countries, 90-) day visa on arrival, subject to a valid passport, an onward ticket and proof of accommodation. Please confirm based on your own nationality — we're happy to point you in the right direction.

Is the US$1,499 price per person? What does it cover?
Yes — that's a starting price, per person, for the 5-day itinerary based on twin-share accommodation. It covers your resort stay, daily breakfast, airport and resort transfers, and local assistance. Because resort transfer type and meal plan vary significantly by property, the final figure is confirmed once we know which resort and villa category you'd like.
How do we actually get to the resort from the airport?
There are no roads between Malé's Velana International Airport and any resort island. Nearby resorts are reached by speedboat (20 minutes to a couple of hours); resorts in more distant atolls are reached by seaplane, which only flies during daylight. Your resort arranges this transfer, and we confirm the type and cost as part of your quote.
Is breakfast the only meal included?
Daily breakfast is the base inclusion, but most Maldives resorts default to half-board, full-board or all-inclusive plans rather than breakfast-only, and this materially changes the price. We'll confirm the exact meal plan for your chosen resort before you book.
