You'll arrive into Malé's Velana International Airport and continue on to your resort island by speedboat or scenic seaplane, depending on which atoll the resort sits in — both are part of the experience, not just transport. From there, the days are largely yours: house-reef snorkelling, spa time, sunset on the deck, and one evening set aside as the centrepiece — a private table on the sand, lit by lanterns, with nothing else happening around you.

You're met on arrival at Velana International Airport and connected on to your resort island by speedboat or seaplane, depending on the atoll. On arrival, a welcome drink, a villa orientation, and the rest of the day free to settle in and watch the sun go down over the lagoon.
A full free day to find the island's pace — house-reef snorkelling, a spa treatment, or simply the villa deck and the water beneath it. Breakfast is the only fixed point; everything else is unscheduled by design.
The day is left open until evening, when a private dining setting is arranged — lanterns, a set table, and a menu built around the occasion you're marking. This is the centrepiece of the trip, and the one thing we confirm the details of well ahead of your arrival.
Another day with nothing fixed. Popular add-ons at this point include a sunset cruise, a couple's spa session, or simply more time in the water — we can pre-book any of these once your resort is confirmed.
A final breakfast on the deck before your speedboat or seaplane transfer back to Malé for your onward flight. Extending by a few nights, or adding a second island for contrast, is easy to build in if you'd like a longer trip.

Best time to visit
Warm and tropical year-round, with the driest, calmest conditions generally from December to April. The wetter southwest monsoon runs roughly May to November — still very swimmable, with lower rates and fewer crowds. We'll advise for your dates.

The Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR), though resorts are almost universally priced and settled in US dollars. Most spending happens on a resort room charge, settled on checkout.
Getting to your island
Resorts closer to Malé are reached by speedboat, usually 20–60 minutes; more remote atolls use a scenic seaplane, which only operates in daylight. Which applies depends entirely on the resort — we'll confirm once yours is chosen.

What to pack
Resort-casual is the norm everywhere, and reef-safe sunscreen is worth bringing — many islands ask guests not to use sunscreens containing oxybenzone or octinoxate. Modest swimwear is appreciated near the local island of Malé itself, though resort islands are unrestricted.

Resorts further out use a scenic seaplane, which is a memorable part of the trip but only flies during daylight hours — worth knowing if you have a late arrival. Can this be extended, or combined with another island?
