Krabi is where Thailand's limestone landscape gets dramatic — sheer karst towers rising straight out of turquoise water, connected by nothing but longtail boats and open sea. This six-day journey uses Ao Nang as your base and works outward from there, covering the region's signature experiences without the guesswork of arranging boats, transfers and permits yourself.
You'll cross by boat to Railay's boat-only beaches beneath their famous cliffs, island-hop to Poda, Tup and Chicken Islands on the classic Four Islands run, and spend a full day out on the water in the Phi Phi archipelago — including a visit to Maya Bay, the cove made famous on film, now managed under strict conservation rules that keep its reef and blacktip reef sharks recovering. Between the boat days, Krabi's inland side adds jungle pools and a hilltop temple for anyone who wants a change of pace.

Railay's boat-only beaches
A peninsula cut off from the mainland by sheer karst cliffs, reachable only by longtail boat. Phra Nang Cave Beach is the standout — a sheltered cove with a sacred shrine at one end and cliffs rising straight from the sand.
The Four Islands by longtail
A classic day on the water: Poda Island's white sand, Chicken Island's rock formation, Tup Island's connecting sandbar, and time in the water at each stop for swimming and snorkelling.
Maya Bay & the Phi Phi archipelago
A full day out to Ko Phi Phi Leh and Ko Phi Phi Don — the limestone cove of Maya Bay, the clear waters of Pileh Lagoon, and the classic viewpoint over Phi Phi Don's twin bays, all under the marine park's conservation rules.
Ao Nang, your base on the bay
A lively beach town backed by limestone hills, with a long promenade of longtail boats, restaurants and dive shops — the launch point for every boat day on this itinerary.

You're met at Krabi International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Ao Nang. Settle in, then ease into the coast at your own pace — the beachfront promenade is a good first stop, with longtail boats lined up on the sand, limestone islands offshore, and your first Thai meal as the sun goes down.
A short longtail crossing from Ao Nang brings you to Railay, the peninsula with no road in or out. Spend the day between West Railay's swimming beach and Phra Nang Cave Beach, with time to walk the cliff-base trail, visit the shrine at Phra Nang, and — for anyone keen — watch or try a beginner route on the limestone walls that draw climbers from around the world.
A full day by longtail boat around Krabi's most photographed islands: the white sand of Poda Island, the striking silhouette of Chicken Island, and the sandbar at Tup that connects to neighbouring Mor Island at low tide. Snorkelling gear is on hand at each stop, and there's time to swim, relax on the beach and take in the limestone scenery from the water.
An early departure by speedboat to the Phi Phi Islands, roughly 90 minutes offshore. The day takes in Maya Bay on Ko Phi Phi Leh — accessed via its rear landing at Loh Samah Bay, with a short boardwalk to the beach itself — plus the clear waters of Pileh Lagoon and the viewpoint over Ko Phi Phi Don's twin bays, before returning to Ao Nang in the late afternoon.
A change of pace on the mainland: the Emerald Pool's warm, clear jungle waters at Thung Teao Forest National Park, followed by the option to climb Tiger Cave Temple's long stairway to its hilltop Buddha and panoramic coastal views. Return to Ao Nang for a free evening — a good night for dinner on the beach or last-minute souvenir shopping.
Enjoy a final breakfast and, depending on your flight, a little free time on the beach or for last-minute shopping. You're then transferred to the airport for your onward journey — or, if you'd like to extend, we can add nights on Phi Phi Don itself, link this trip to Phuket, or build in more time at Railay.

Maya Bay closes annually for conservation, typically for around two months from early August [[CONFIRM]] — an alternative Phi Phi stop is substituted during that window.

Before you go
Best time to visit
The Andaman coast is warm and tropical year-round, with a wetter monsoon season roughly May to October. November to April brings calmer seas and clearer skies — the more reliable window for full-day boat trips to Phi Phi.
Currency
The Thai Baht (THB). Cards are widely accepted in Ao Nang's hotels and restaurants; carry cash for longtail boat fares, national park fees, markets and small vendors.
Maya Bay's rules
Since its 2022 reopening, Maya Bay runs under strict conservation rules: no swimming in the main bay (wading only), boats land at the rear via a boardwalk rather than the beach itself, and visitor numbers are capped in timed slots. Swimming and snorkelling on the Phi Phi day happen at other stops, such as Pileh Lagoon.
Getting around
Longtail boats and speedboats are the main way to reach Railay, the Four Islands and Phi Phi — there's no road access to several of this itinerary's stops. Wear footwear you don't mind getting wet, and pack a dry bag for cameras and phones.
What to pack
Swimwear, a rash guard or cover-up for boat days, reef-safe sunscreen, insect repellent, sun protection and a reusable water bottle. Modest cover-ups are handy for the temple visit on Day 5.

Yes — that's a starting price, per person, for the 6-day itinerary based on twin-share accommodation. It covers your hotel, daily breakfast, airport and listed transfers, the sightseeing in the itinerary, selected entrance fees and local assistance. The final figure depends on your travel dates, hotel choice, group size and whether you'd like it private, so we confirm an exact quote when you enquire.
Can we swim in Maya Bay?
Not in the main bay — since the 2022 reopening, swimming there is restricted to wading, to protect the reef and the blacktip reef sharks that have returned since. It's a scenery-and-photos stop rather than a swim beach. Swimming and snorkelling on the Phi Phi day happen at other stops on the route, such as Pileh Lagoon.
Is snorkelling equipment provided?
Yes — mask and snorkel are provided on the Four Islands and Phi Phi boat days. If you'd prefer your own gear or a wetsuit for comfort, you're welcome to bring it; just let us know your sizing when you enquire.
Are international flights included?
No — international flights aren't included unless we've specifically stated so in your quote. Krabi International Airport is well connected via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and other regional hubs; we can advise on convenient routings and arrange your airport transfers to match your flights.
