You'll settle into a beach base on the island's east coast, spend a full day out on the water among the limestone islands of Ang Thong National Marine Park, and take in Samui's own landmarks — the golden Big Buddha at Wat Phra Yai and the old fishing lanes of Bophut's Fisherman's Village — before a final day left free for the beach, a spa, or simply the pool.

What you'll actually see
Ang Thong National Marine Park
A protected archipelago of 42 islands northwest of Samui, dramatic limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons and a viewpoint hike over the whole park. A day out on the water, with time to snorkel, kayak and swim, on a genuinely striking stretch of the Gulf of Thailand.
The Big Buddha at Wat Phra Yai
A 12-metre gold-painted Buddha statue on a small causeway-linked island off Samui's northeast tip, built in 1972 and now the island's best-known landmark — visible from the air on the way in.
Fisherman's Village, Bophut
Samui's most atmospheric old town — a stretch of wooden Sino-Thai shophouses on the north coast, once a fishing community, now home to relaxed cafés, galleries and the Friday-night walking street market.
Beach time that isn't rushed
A full day left open on your own east-coast beach — Chaweng's six kilometres of sand, water sports if you want them, or nothing more ambitious than a sunbed and the tide coming in.

You're met at Samui Airport and transferred to your beachfront hotel on the east coast. There's no itinerary today — settle in, get your bearings on the beach, and ease into island time with dinner nearby as the sun goes down.
An early pier departure for the boat trip out to Ang Thong National Marine Park, an archipelago of 42 limestone islands northwest of Samui. The day includes snorkelling stops, sea-kayaking around the karst coastline, and a climb to the viewpoint over Ko Wua Talap for a look back across the whole park. Lunch is served on board or on an island beach before the return crossing.
A guided half-day around the island: the golden Big Buddha statue at Wat Phra Yai, the old wooden shophouses of Fisherman's Village in Bophut, and a stop at the Na Muang waterfalls, where a short walk leads to a natural swimming pool beneath the falls. The rest of the day is yours — back to the beach, or explore Samui's food scene independently.
A full day with nothing booked. Stay on your own stretch of sand, add an optional spa treatment, try paddleboarding or snorkelling gear from a beach kiosk, or take a taxi south to a quieter beach like Lamai or Coral Cove for the afternoon. We're happy to arrange any of this in advance — just let us know what you're after.
Enjoy a final breakfast and, depending on your flight, a relaxed last morning on the beach or some time browsing Fisherman's Village. You're then transferred to the airport for your onward journey — or, if you'd like to extend, we can add nights on Samui or link this trip to a wider Thailand itinerary.

Before you go
Best time to visit
Samui sits on the Gulf of Thailand side, so its driest months run roughly February to September — the reverse of the Andaman coast. The wetter season is October to December, when the Ang Thong boat trip is more likely to be affected by weather. We'll advise on timing for your dates when you enquire.
Currency
The Thai Baht (THB). Cards are widely accepted in hotels, malls and larger restaurants; carry cash for beach vendors, markets, the Fisherman's Village night market and small tour add-ons.
The Ang Thong boat day
It's a full day out — sun, sea spray, some time on the water and a viewpoint hike. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, swimwear under your clothes, and a dry bag for phones and cameras. Sea conditions can affect the exact route on the day.
Visiting the Big Buddha
Wat Phra Yai is an active temple, so modest dress is expected — shoulders and knees covered, shoes off before entering the shrine itself. It's a short, easy walk from the causeway car park up to the statue.
What to pack
Light, breathable clothing, swimwear, a rain layer, insect repellent, sun protection and a reusable water bottle. Modest cover-ups are handy for temple visits.

Which beach will we be based on?
This itinerary is built around a stay on Samui's lively east coast, close to Chaweng, but the exact hotel and beach area depends on what's contracted and your preferences. If you'd rather a quieter beach like Bophut, Choeng Mon or Lamai, tell us when you enquire and we'll shape the quote around it.
What if the weather affects the Ang Thong boat trip?
Ang Thong is a genuine marine park with real sea conditions, so the boat operator makes the final call on the day. In rough weather the route can change, or in rare cases the trip may be rescheduled or refunded by the operator. We'll always confirm the operator's policy before you travel.
Are international flights included?
No — international flights aren't included unless we've specifically stated so in your quote. Koh Samui has its own international-linked airport with connections via Bangkok and Singapore; we can advise on convenient routings and arrange your airport transfers to match your flights.
