Timed to the bloom, not just the calendar
Korea's cherry blossom season is short, spectacular, and moves — it opens on the south coast in late March and travels north over roughly two to three weeks, reaching Seoul about a week to ten days later. This itinerary is built around that movement rather than against it: you start in Busan while its coastline and riverside parks are already in flower, follow the bloom inland to the ancient Silla capital of Gyeongju, and finish in Seoul as the city's palaces and Han River parks reach their own peak.
Along the way you'll walk the tunnel of blossoms at Busan's Samnak Ecological Park, see the pink-and-white King Cherry Blossoms framing Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongju — a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Korea's most important Buddhist temples — and end at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Yeouido Park in Seoul, where more than 1,600 cherry trees line the riverside boulevard during the city's spring festival.

Korea's cherry blossoms open earliest on the south coast. Busan's Samnak Ecological Park and riverside walkways turn into pink tunnels along the Nakdong River while the rest of the country is still waiting.
Gyeongju, blossoms over a thousand years of history
The ancient Silla capital, called "the museum without walls" — UNESCO-listed Bulguksa Temple, the star-gazing tower of Cheomseongdae, and royal tombs, with blossoms softening some of Korea's oldest stone architecture.
Seoul's palaces in bloom
Gyeongbokgung Palace's stone courtyards framed by cherry and plum blossom, and Yeouido Park's 1.7km riverside boulevard of over 1,600 cherry trees during the city's spring flower festival.
City life between the parks

You're met at Gimhae International Airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Settle in, then ease into the city — Busan's coastal air and early blossoms make for a gentle first evening.
A morning walk through Samnak Ecological Park's cherry blossom tunnel along the Nakdong River, followed by the colourful hillside terraces of Gamcheon Culture Village. In the afternoon, Haeundae Beach and the city's skyline give a different side of Busan before the day winds down.
A short intercity transfer to Gyeongju, the thousand-year capital of the Silla Kingdom. In the afternoon, Bulguksa Temple — a UNESCO World Heritage site — where the King Cherry Blossoms near the entrance are among the most photographed in the country.
A full day through Gyeongju's historic core: Cheomseongdae, Asia's oldest surviving astronomical observatory; the royal burial mounds of Tumuli Park; and Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, especially striking with blossoms reflected on the water. The Bomun Lake area's blossom-lined paths round out the afternoon.
A high-speed KTX transfer north to Seoul, timed so the capital's blossoms are reaching their own peak as Busan's and Gyeongju's begin to fade. In the afternoon, Gyeongbokgung Palace — the grandest of Seoul's five Joseon-era palaces — where cherry and plum blossoms frame the stone courtyards and pavilions.
A morning at Yeouido Park, where more than 1,600 cherry trees line the riverside boulevard during the city's spring flower festival — a Han River walk, and if timing allows, the evening blossom illuminations. The afternoon moves into everyday Seoul: markets, neighbourhoods and free time to explore at your own pace.
Enjoy a final breakfast and, depending on your flight, a little free time for last-minute shopping. You're then transferred to Incheon International Airport for your onward journey — or, if you'd like to extend, we can add nights in Seoul or link this trip to other parts of Korea.

Blossom timing isn't exact
Cherry blossom dates shift year to year with spring weather. As a rough guide, Busan and Gyeongju bloom from late March, Seoul about a week to ten days later. We track the seasonal forecast and recommend departure windows accordingly, but nature doesn't take bookings — timing is our best estimate, not a guarantee.
Weather & what to pack
Spring in Korea is mild but changeable — layers, a light rain jacket and comfortable walking shoes cover most days. Evenings can still be cool, especially in Seoul.
Currency
The South Korean Won (KRW). Cards are accepted almost everywhere, including small cafes and convenience stores; a small amount of cash is handy for markets and temple donations.
Getting around
Busan to Gyeongju and Gyeongju to Seoul run by intercity coach or Korea's high-speed KTX rail — fast, comfortable and one of the best ways to see the countryside in bloom. We handle the bookings and transfers.
Temple & palace etiquette
Modest, comfortable clothing is appropriate at Bulguksa Temple and Seoul's palaces. Some areas ask for quiet, and photography rules can vary inside temple halls — your guide will point these out.
Visas & entry
Entry requirements depend on your passport. Many nationalities enter South Korea visa-free for short stays via the K-ETA system, but please check based on your nationality — we're happy to point you to the right source.

The final figure depends on your travel dates, hotel choice, group size and whether you'd like it private, so we confirm an exact quote when you enquire.
Will we definitely see the cherry blossoms in full bloom?
We can't guarantee it — bloom timing shifts every year with the weather, and even a few days either way changes what you'll see. What we can do is route you south-to-north to follow the bloom wave, track the seasonal forecast, and recommend the departure window most likely to catch it. Even outside peak bloom, all four destinations are worth visiting for their heritage and city life alone.
Why does the itinerary start in Busan instead of Seoul?
Cherry blossoms open on Korea's south coast first and move north over two to three weeks, reaching Seoul roughly a week to ten days after Busan. Starting in Busan means you're not waiting for Seoul's blossoms to catch up — by the time you arrive in the capital, they're at their peak. If you'd prefer a Seoul-first routing for flight or scheduling reasons, we can flip the order.
Are international flights included?
No — international flights aren't included unless we've specifically stated so in your quote. Most itineraries fly into Busan (Gimhae) and out of Seoul (Incheon), which suits this route well; we can advise on convenient routings and arrange your airport transfers to match your flights.
Can this itinerary be customised or run privately?
