You're met at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and transferred to your family-friendly hotel. Settle in and take the first evening slowly — an easy dinner nearby is the perfect way to shake off the flight before the week gets going.
After breakfast, explore the best of the city with the family in mind: the Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC park, the views from KL Tower, and the Aquaria KLCC oceanarium with its 90-metre underwater tunnel. There's time for lunch and a little shopping before heading back to the hotel.
Transfer up to the Genting Highlands and ride the Awana SkyWay cable car — a scenic climb with the option of a glass-bottomed gondola — with a stop at the hillside Chin Swee Caves Temple along the way. Check in to your highland hotel and enjoy the cool mountain air and the buzz of Resorts World Genting.
A full day for the family to enjoy Genting at its own pace — theme-park rides, the shops and eateries of SkyAvenue, and the entertainment the highland resort is known for. It's a highlight day for younger travellers, and there's plenty for the adults too.
Come back down to Kuala Lumpur for a short domestic flight to the island of Langkawi. You're transferred to your beachside hotel with the afternoon free — time for a first swim, a walk on the sand, or simply to relax after the mountains.
Ride the Langkawi Cable Car up for the curved SkyBridge and its rainforest-and-island views, then see the giant eagle statue at Eagle Square (Dataran Lang), the island's famous landmark. The rest of the day is yours for the beach, the pool or a gentle island wander.

Best time to visit
Malaysia is warm and tropical year-round. Langkawi is generally driest and sunniest from around December to April, which is the most popular window for the beach; we'll advise on timing when you enquire.
Currency
The Malaysian Ringgit (MYR / RM). Cards are widely accepted in malls, hotels and theme parks; carry some cash for smaller vendors, markets and the islands.
Pack for three climates
Hot and humid in KL, noticeably cooler up in Genting (bring a light jacket or jumper), and beach-warm in Langkawi. Light layers plus swimwear cover the whole trip.
Travelling with children

Is the Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi leg a flight?
Yes — Langkawi is an island, so the KL–Langkawi leg is a short domestic flight rather than a road transfer. We arrange the flight and the airport transfers at each end; whether the airfare sits inside the package price or is quoted alongside it will be confirmed in your quote.
Is this trip suitable for young children?
Very. The attractions — the aquarium, theme park, cable cars and beaches — are family favourites, the pace is comfortable, and transfers are handled for you. Tell us your children's ages and we'll match hotels, room types and the day-to-day pace to suit them, including family or connecting rooms where available.
Are theme-park and cable-car tickets included?
