The classic route, done properly — four regions, one booking
If you want to see the Malaysia most travellers come for — without stitching together flights, hotels and transfers yourself — this is the itinerary. Ten days move you from the glass towers of Kuala Lumpur to the 500-year-old trading port of Malacca, on to the street art and hawker food of George Town, and out to the beaches and limestone karst of Langkawi for a proper island finish.
Each stop earns its place. Malacca and George Town are both UNESCO World Heritage sites, layered with Portuguese, Dutch, British, Chinese and Malay history you can still walk through. Langkawi closes the trip on a slower note — a duty-free island of mangroves, cable cars and calm water after nine days on the move. Kuala Lumpur bookends it all as your arrival and, if needed, your connecting hub between regions.

A 500-year-old trading port shaped by Portuguese, Dutch and British rule — A Famosa, the red Dutch Square, and the Peranakan shophouses of Jonker Street, all walkable in a day.
George Town's street art & temples
Penang's UNESCO heritage core — laneway murals, the seven Chinese clan jetties, and Kek Lok Si, Malaysia's largest Buddhist temple complex — with some of the country's best hawker food after dark.
Langkawi's island finish
A duty-free archipelago named for its eagles — Eagle Square, the Machincang cable car and Sky Bridge, and the mangroves of the Kilim Geoforest Park — closing the trip at a slower pace.
Your 10-day itinerary

You're met at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Settle in, then ease into the city at your own pace — the KLCC district and its night-lit fountains are an easy first outing.
A guided city tour taking in the Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC park, the colonial-era buildings and Sultan Abdul Samad Building around Merdeka Square, and the trading streets of Chinatown. There's time for local food before the day winds down.
A scenic road transfer south to Malacca (around two hours). In the afternoon, an orientation walk through the UNESCO-listed old town — the red Dutch Square, Christ Church and the Stadthuys — before free time to explore.
A full day through Malacca's layered history: the A Famosa fortress ruins, the Peranakan houses and antique shops of Jonker Street, and the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum for a look inside Straits Chinese culture. A short Malacca River cruise rounds out the afternoon.
Transfer back toward Kuala Lumpur for a short flight to Penang. On arrival, an easy first walk through George Town's UNESCO heritage core — the laneway murals and street art that have made the city one of Asia's open-air galleries.
A full day through Penang's highlights: the Chinese clan jetties on Weld Quay, Kek Lok Si — Malaysia's largest Buddhist temple complex — and, if time and weather allow, the funicular up Penang Hill for cooler air and island views. The evening is left free for George Town's celebrated hawker food.
A short flight to Langkawi. In Kuah town, a stop at Eagle Square — Dataran Lang — the 12-metre eagle statue that gives the island its name, followed by a browse through the duty-free shops before checking in to your beach or resort hotel.
The Langkawi SkyCab climbs Machincang Mountain to the curved Sky Bridge, with views over rainforest, the Andaman Sea and, on a clear day, the coast of Thailand. In the afternoon, an optional mangrove and eagle-watching boat tour through the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park.
A day left open by design, after nine days of moving between cities. Relax at your hotel's beach, arrange optional island-hopping or snorkelling, or simply do nothing at all — the way a trip like this should end.
Enjoy a final breakfast before transferring to Langkawi International Airport for your onward or connecting flight. Prefer to fly home via Kuala Lumpur with a final night in the capital? We can build that in.

Before you go
Best time to visit
Peninsular Malaysia is warm and tropical year-round. December to February tends to bring clearer skies to Penang and Langkawi, while KL and Malacca are comfortable most of the year — we'll advise on timing for your dates when you enquire.
Currency
The Malaysian Ringgit (MYR / RM) throughout. Cards are widely accepted in hotels and malls; carry some cash for hawker stalls, markets and Langkawi's duty-free purchases.
Packing light helps
With four stops and two flights, a soft-sided bag or a suitcase you're comfortable moving through airports repeatedly makes the trip smoother than one large hard case.
Pace & free time
This is a moving itinerary with two transfer days and one deliberately open day in Langkawi. If you'd prefer fewer stops and more time in each, we can rebalance the route — tell us your priorities.

Kek Lok Si and Malacca's older churches and mosques ask for shoulders and knees covered. Lightweight, breathable clothing suits the climate everywhere on this route.

Yes — that's a starting price, per person, for the 10-day itinerary based on twin-share accommodation. It covers your hotels across all four regions, daily breakfast, airport and listed intercity transfers, the sightseeing in the itinerary, selected entrance fees and local assistance. The final figure depends on your travel dates, hotel choice, group size, whether the domestic flight legs are included or quoted separately, and whether you'd like it private — so we confirm an exact quote when you enquire.
How do we get between Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Langkawi?
Kuala Lumpur to Malacca runs by road, around two hours each way. Malacca to Penang and Penang to Langkawi are short domestic flights, connecting via Kuala Lumpur where needed. We handle the transfers to and from each airport.
Are international flights or the domestic flights included?
International flights into and out of Malaysia aren't included unless stated in your quote. The domestic flights within this itinerary (KL–Penang, Penang–Langkawi) are confirmed with your operator as either included in the package price or quoted as an add-on — we'll make this clear before you book.
Is 10 days enough, or too rushed?
Ten days gives each region a proper look without feeling like a checklist — two full days in KL, two in Malacca, two in Penang, and three in Langkawi including a free day. If you'd rather go deeper into fewer places, we can drop a region and extend the others; tell us what matters most to you.
Can this itinerary be customised or run privately?
