Mumbai and Goa make one of India's most natural pairings — the relentless energy of the country's commercial and film capital, followed by the slower, sun-soaked rhythm of its most famous beach state. This seven-day itinerary gives each its due: enough time in Mumbai to see the city properly, then a genuine beach stretch in Goa rather than a rushed add-on.
In Mumbai, you'll take in the Gateway of India, the Victorian Gothic grandeur of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a stroll along Marine Drive at sunset, and a half-day boat trip out to the rock-cut Elephanta Caves. In Goa, the pace shifts — Portuguese-era churches and the UNESCO-listed Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa, then beach days on the north coast with time built in to simply do nothing.

The Elephanta Caves
A scenic ferry ride from the Gateway of India out to Elephanta Island, where 5th- to 8th-century rock-cut cave temples — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — house sculpted shrines to Shiva, including the striking three-faced Trimurti.
Old Goa's Portuguese churches
The UNESCO-listed Basilica of Bom Jesus, resting place of St Francis Xavier, and the grand Sé Cathedral nearby — among the largest churches in Asia and the clearest reminders of four centuries of Portuguese rule.
Goa's beaches
North Goa's Calangute and Baga for an easy first taste of the coast, with water sports, beach shacks and the option to venture further south to the quieter sands of Palolem.

You're met at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Settle in, then ease into the city at your own pace — a first evening walk along Marine Drive as the lights come on is the classic Mumbai introduction.
A guided city tour taking in the Gateway of India, the Victorian Gothic Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Rajabai Clock Tower and the bustle of Crawford Market, finishing with a slower walk along Marine Drive. There's time for local food before the day winds down.
A morning ferry from the Gateway of India out to the Elephanta Caves, exploring the rock-cut Hindu temples with your guide before returning to the mainland. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your short flight to Goa, with a beachside welcome awaiting on arrival.
A morning in Old Goa, the former Portuguese capital, visiting the UNESCO-listed Basilica of Bom Jesus and the grand Sé Cathedral. In the afternoon, head to the North Goa coast for your first proper beach time at Calangute or Baga, with beach shacks and water sports on offer.
A day left open by design. Stay at your beach for water sports and beach shacks, or arrange an optional day trip south to the quieter sands of Palolem, a spice plantation tour, or a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River.
Another unhurried day on the coast. Optional add-ons include a Goan cooking class, an Anjuna flea market visit (Wednesdays), or simply more time on the sand before your final evening.
Enjoy a final breakfast before transferring to Goa's airport for your onward or connecting flight. Prefer to fly home via Mumbai with a final city night? We can build that in.

Before you go
Best time to visit
Mumbai and Goa are both warm year-round, with the monsoon running roughly June to September. November to February is the most comfortable window for both cities and beaches — we'll advise on timing for your dates when you enquire.
Currency
The Indian Rupee (INR / ₹). Cards are widely accepted in hotels and restaurants in both cities; carry some cash for beach shacks, markets and small vendors.
Two very different paces
Mumbai is dense, fast-moving and best explored with a guide who knows the traffic patterns. Goa is the opposite — slower, beach-led and easy to navigate independently once you're settled in.
Dress code
The Basilica of Bom Jesus and other places of worship ask for shoulders and knees covered. Light, breathable clothing suits the climate; beachwear is fine at Goa's beaches but best kept there rather than in town.
Food & water
Mumbai's street food and Goa's seafood and Portuguese-influenced dishes (vindaloo, xacuti) are highlights of the trip. Stick to bottled or filtered water, and we're happy to point you to trusted places to eat.

Yes — that's a starting price, per person, for the 7-day itinerary based on twin-share accommodation. It covers your hotels in both Mumbai and Goa, daily breakfast, airport and listed transfers, the sightseeing in the itinerary, selected entrance fees and local assistance. The final figure depends on your travel dates, hotel choice, group size and whether the Mumbai–Goa flight is included or quoted separately, so we confirm an exact quote when you enquire.
How do we get from Mumbai to Goa?
By a short domestic flight, roughly an hour and a half. We handle the transfer to and from each airport; the flight itself is confirmed with your operator as either included in the package price or quoted as an add-on before you book.
Are international flights included?
No — international flights into and out of India aren't included unless we've specifically stated so in your quote. We can advise on convenient arrival times into Mumbai and arrange your airport transfers to match your flights.
Should we stay in North Goa or South Goa?
This itinerary is based in North Goa, around Calangute and Baga, which is livelier and closer to Old Goa's churches — a good fit for first-time visitors. South Goa, around Palolem, is quieter and more laid-back. We can rebuild the itinerary around South Goa instead, or split your stay between both, if that suits you better.
