Overview

The compact, first-time Singapore hit-list

Singapore is one of the easiest stopovers in Asia — clean, safe, English-speaking, and small enough that its biggest landmarks all sit within a short taxi or MRT ride of each other. This three-day itinerary is built for travellers breaking a longer journey or wanting a taste of the city without committing a full holiday to it.

You'll cover the postcard shots that define Singapore: the Merlion at the water's edge, the view from 200 metres up at the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, and the futuristic Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay. Alongside that sits Chinatown — temples, shophouses and hawker food that show the older, street-level side of the city the skyline doesn't.

Airport transfers, centrally located accommodation, daily breakfast and guided sightseeing are arranged for you. Want an extra night, a Sentosa add-on, or the whole thing run privately? This itinerary is a strong starting point, not a fixed script — tell us what you'd like and we'll adjust it.

Highlights

What you'll actually see

The Merlion, up close

The half-lion, half-fish statue at Merlion Park is 8.6 metres tall and has spouted water over Marina Bay since 2002 — Singapore's most photographed landmark, with the skyline and the Fullerton Hotel as a backdrop.

Marina Bay Sands SkyPark

One of the world's largest observation decks, roughly 200 metres up on level 56-57 of Marina Bay Sands, with unbroken views over Gardens by the Bay, the Merlion, the Singapore Flyer and the South China Sea.

Supertree Grove, Gardens by the Bay

Eighteen solar-powered, tree-like structures up to 50 metres tall, twelve of them clustered in the free-to-enter Supertree Grove. Free nightly light-and-sound shows run the Grove after dark — timings vary, so we confirm the current schedule before you travel.

Chinatown's temples and street food

South Bridge Road alone puts the Tang-dynasty-style Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and the 1827 Sri Mariamman Temple — Singapore's oldest Hindu temple — a few minutes apart, with hawker stalls and shophouse lanes filling the streets between them.

Day by Day

Your 3-day itinerary

A short, efficient loop — one culture-and-food day, one landmark day — with breakfast daily and all listed transfers included.

1Day
Arrival — Welcome to Singapore, straight into Chinatown

You're met at Changi Airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Once you've settled in, an easy first evening in Chinatown is the perfect way to shake off a flight: wander South Bridge Road past the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and the Sri Mariamman Temple, then let the hawker stalls along Smith Street or Maxwell Road decide dinner for you.

2Day
Marina Bay & Gardens by the Bay — The postcard day

The full landmark circuit: morning photos at Merlion Park with the skyline behind you, then up to the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Deck for the view from 200 metres. In the afternoon, walk over to Gardens by the Bay for the Supertree Grove — free to enter, with the option to add the OCBC Skyway or the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest conservatories. Stay on for the free evening light show at the Grove before heading back.

Chinatown & Departure — One last morning, done properly

A relaxed final morning through Pagoda Street and the surrounding shophouse lanes for souvenirs, a last hawker breakfast, or a proper look inside the temples if you skipped it on arrival. You're then transferred to Changi Airport for your onward journey — or, if you'd like more time, we can add a night and layer in Sentosa, a river cruise, or a wider Malaysia extension.

Good to Know

Before you go

Best time to visit

Singapore is warm and humid year-round, close to the equator, with rain possible in any month. There's no strict "best" season for a short stopover — pack for heat, humidity and the occasional downpour whenever you travel.

Currency

The Singapore Dollar (SGD). Cards and contactless payment are widely accepted, including at most hawker centres, so you'll need less cash here than in many other Southeast Asian cities.

Getting around

The MRT rail network connects Chinatown, Marina Bay and most other central areas quickly and cheaply, and taxis and ride-hailing apps are plentiful. Most sights in this itinerary are within a short ride or walk of one another.

Local etiquette

Singapore enforces strict rules on littering, jaywalking and chewing gum import, and dress modestly with shoes off where required at temples. Rules are well signposted and generally common sense.

What to pack

Light, breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a light rain jacket or umbrella, and a layer for heavily air-conditioned malls and MRT trains. Modest cover-ups are useful for temple visits.

Visas & documents

Many nationalities can enter Singapore visa-free for short stopovers, and Changi Airport is one of Asia's best-connected hubs for a break in your journey. Requirements depend on your passport, so please verify based on your own nationality — we're happy to point you to the right source.

Questions

Good to have answered

Is the US$549 price per person? What does it cover?

Yes — that's a starting price, per person, for the 3-day itinerary based on twin-share accommodation. It covers your hotel, daily breakfast, airport and listed transfers, the sightseeing in the itinerary, selected entrance fees and local assistance. The final figure depends on your travel dates, hotel choice, group size and whether you'd like it private, so we confirm an exact quote when you enquire.

Is three days really enough time in Singapore?

For the headline landmarks, yes — Singapore's biggest draws sit close together, and this itinerary is built specifically as a stopover, not a full holiday. If you'd like more depth (Sentosa, a river cruise, the zoo or a food-focused day), we can extend it to four or five days.

Are international flights included?

No — international flights aren't included unless we've specifically stated so in your quote. Changi Airport is one of the world's best-connected hubs, so this package works well as a genuine stopover between longer-haul flights.

Can this itinerary be customised or run privately?

Absolutely — this is a template, not a fixed package. Run it fully private, add a night, upgrade the hotel, swap in Sentosa or a night safari, or use it as the opening leg of a longer Southeast Asia trip. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll shape it around you.

How much walking is involved?

It's an easy, mostly flat itinerary suited to most fitness levels. Marina Bay and Chinatown both involve comfortable walking on paved streets, and the MRT and taxis cover any longer distances, so it's manageable for families and older travellers alike.

Do I need a visa for Singapore?

It depends on your nationality. Many travellers can enter Singapore visa-free for short stopovers, but requirements change, so please verify based on your own passport before you travel — we're glad to point you to the right official source.

How do I book or get a quote?

Send us an enquiry with your rough dates and traveller numbers and we'll come back with a tailored quote and next steps. There's no obligation, and no payment needed to get a proposal.
