Your 8-day itinerary
Paced deliberately — a big activity day is always followed by an easier one — with breakfast daily and all listed transfers included.
You're met at Noi Bai International Airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Settle in and take the evening at your own pace — the streets around Hoan Kiem Lake are an easy, atmospheric first walk, with plenty of family-friendly food options nearby.
A relaxed guided morning through the Old Quarter's 36 streets, Hoan Kiem Lake and its red Huc Bridge, with stops built around what keeps kids interested — street food tastings, the buzz of the markets, a look at Hanoi's famous train street. In the evening, the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre rounds off the day with a show the whole family can follow.
An early departure (around 2.5 hours by road) to Ha Long Bay for a full day on the water. Cruise past thousands of limestone islands, stop for kayaking or a swim depending on the weather, and explore a cave formation before returning to Hanoi in the evening. A packed, memorable day — best with a rest morning either side.
A slower morning in Hanoi before your transfer to the airport for the short domestic flight to Da Nang. On arrival, transfer to your beachfront hotel and use the afternoon to unwind — a first dip in the sea after a busy start to the trip.
A flexible day mixing beach time on My Khe with a half-day of sightseeing: the Dragon Bridge over the Han River, and the Marble Mountains — a cluster of marble and limestone hills with cave pagodas and, for those who want it, a lift up for the views.
A short drive (around 45 minutes) to Hoi An for a full day in the UNESCO-listed old town — the Japanese Covered Bridge, riverside shophouses, and a basket-boat ride that's a highlight for kids of every age. Stay into the evening if your energy holds, when the lanterns come out along the river.
A deliberately open day to recover — the hotel pool and beach are right there, or add the Ba Na Hills day trip for the cable car and the Golden Bridge, held up by two giant stone hands, plus Fantasy Park for families with younger kids. Best chosen closer to your travel dates based on energy levels and the weather.
Enjoy a final breakfast and, depending on your flight, one last swim or a walk along the beach. You're then transferred to Da Nang International Airport for your onward journey — or, if you'd like to extend, we can add nights on the coast or link this trip to a wider Vietnam itinerary.

Best time to visit
Vietnam spans several climate zones, so the north and centre don't always share the same season. Autumn and spring tend to suit this route well across all four stops — we'll advise on timing for your dates when you enquire.
Currency
The Vietnamese Dong (VND). Cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and malls in the cities; carry some cash for markets, street food and smaller vendors.
Travelling with kids
This itinerary is deliberately paced — activity days are followed by lighter ones, and Day 7 is left open on purpose. Tell us the ages in your group when you enquire and we'll fine-tune the pace, meal timing and activity choices around them.
Getting between Hanoi and Da Nang
This itinerary uses a short domestic flight (around 1.5 hours) rather than a long overland transfer, to keep travel days manageable with kids. Flight cost inclusion in your base price depends on the fare class — confirmed at quote stage.
What to pack
Light, breathable clothing, swimwear, good walking shoes, a rain layer, sun protection and a reusable water bottle. A change of clothes for the Ha Long Bay cruise day is worth packing separately in case of a swim.
